2 Things To Know Before Moving To Costa Rica

If you are interested in living in a beautiful tropical country, you should start thinking about Costa Rica. It doesn't matter if you want to live in the mountains, jungle, or by a beach, Costa Rica has all of that. It also has active volcanos, if that is something that you are interested in. Costa Rica also has a lot of biodiversity, which will let you look for all kinds of animals. If you are going to move to Costa Rica, there are some things that you need to know before you go.

Visas

If you are a US citizen, you don't have to have a visa in order to visit Costa Rica. However, you do have to have a valid passport. You also have to have an exit ticket that is dated no more than 90 days from the day you entered Costa Rica. You can leave the country and then come back the next day for another 90 days. However, if you are going to move to Costa Rica, you do need to have a visa. You will have to look at the different visa programs to see which one will fit your needs. You will also need to make sure that you can meet the requirements, which can include a minimum monthly income or a minimum amount of money in the bank.

Visit First

Before you commit to buying a property, take advantage of that 90-day tourist period and spend time in different parts of the country. You may think that beach living is for you, until you spend a couple of weeks staying near the beach and find that you hate sand being everywhere in your house. Buying a house is a big investment, and you don't want to make that investment and then be miserable. Don't just check out the kind of area you want to live in, see if you can stay in the town or area you are thinking about moving to. That will let you get the vibe of the area. You will be able to see if all the amenities work for you and how easy it is for you to get around the area. You can also check out the properties for sale in that area to see if there is something that works for you.

If you want to live in a beautiful tropical country, Costa Rica can be a really good choice for you. If you are going to move there, then you need to know a few things before you move. Contact a realtor for more information on Costa Rica real estate.

I created this site to help everyone prepare for the process of selling their home with help from an agent. I hope you will come by often to learn more. Thanks.
